Matthew & Susannah's Engagement Session

In a little less than a month we will be shooting the beautiful wedding of Matthew & Susannah. When we met them out at Blandy for their engagement session just hearing Susannah talk about all of the sweet details for their wedding made me excited. Susannah plans on having daisies and wild flowers at her ceremony. She even made us be ever-so-careful not to smash any of the delicate little daisies that adorned the fields at Blandy in the process of their shoot. ;) Her and Matthew have such fun, easygoing personalities that shine through in all of their pictures. True LOVE. We can't wait to capture their special day... and of course be able to share it with you!

  

Sarah's Senior Session

Meet Sarah. Last week, I had the privilege of photographing this sweet and beautiful senior, Sarah. She will be a 2012 graduate of Sherando High School. She plans on attending Radford University where she will study business administration with hopes of one day opening up her very own coffee shoppe. Not only is she beautiful on the outside but this girl is such a sweetie. We did the shoot at a beautiful house tucked away close to Kernstown. The gardens were and house amazing and the owners were SO sweet. Rose, the owner, even gave me a piece of a plant to stick in my garden at home! (I didn't even realize until I got home that this plant was the same kind that I was drooling over last weekend at Blandy's Mother's Day celebration!) 
Towards the end of our shoot I noticed an awesome abandoned house and field beside of the property where we were shooting. We headed over there and I was in heaven. I love old, abandoned buildings, chippy paint and rust. I was in my glory. The light was perfect, the model... a beauty.. and this has to be one of the most exciting senior sessions I've ever been on. With that being said, meet Sarah.

And... PS. Today, is Sarah's 18th birthday.. SO... HAPPY BIRTHDAY girlie! 

Sam & Jess {Engaged}

 Our FIRST blog post! ;) I've been neglecting this blog for quite sometime now.. and finally, FINALLY I'm getting on the ball to start posting photo sessions, new inventory in the shoppe, as well as all other goodies related to The Purple Fern. So, welcome to our blog. If you have any questions or comments we would LOVE to hear more from you.

 The first session that we would like to share with you is an engagement session of one of the cutest couples ever. I met Jess in the shoppe a few years ago. I have always admired her adorable style and personality. When she asked us to shoot her wedding in October I was through the roof excited. I know that with her eclectic taste and ideas the wedding is going to be through the roof awesome. Jess and Sam have known each other for a very long time. They actually used to work together when they were young. They drove the same type of car, worked the same job and were closest friends. When we were shooting their e-session you could just feel the love between them. They are a-d-o-r-a-b-l-e. Did I mention that?!? We shot all of the photos up at Bears Den where Sam asked Jess to marry him. It was a beautiful, sunny afternoon that couldn't have been more perfect.
